BloggerTerbaik – Universitas Indonesia (UI) kini memiliki Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah (PLTSa) sebesar 234 kWh berkat kerja sama Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA) UI dengan PT Paiton Energy melalui program Waste to Energy CSR Project.
Universitas Indonesia (UI) now has a Waste Power Plant (PLTSa) of 234 kWh thanks to the collaboration of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI with PT Paiton Energy through the Waste to Energy CSR Project program.
Kehadiran PLTSa tersebut akan digunakan di laboratorium Parangtopo UI. PLTSa ini juga menjadi solusi berkelanjutan bagi UI untuk pengelolaan sampahnya.
The presence of the PLTSa will be used in the Parangtopo UI laboratory. This PLTSa is also a sustainable solution for UI waste management.
Peresmian PLTSa dilakukan di Balai Sidang Kampus UI, Depok, Jawa Barat, pada Rabu (1/12/2021). Acara dihadiri Rektor UI Prof. Ari Kuncoro dan Presiden Direktur PT Paiton Energy Koichiro Miyazaki.
Menurut Prof. Ari Kuncoro, UI berkomitmen untuk menjalankan perannya dalam memenuhi indikator tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Sebagai institusi pendidikan tinggi, UI memiliki fungsi vital untuk memproduksi pengetahuan dan juga inovasi teknologi terapan yang memiliki orientasi pada keseimbangan sosial dan ekologi.
“Kerja sama yang dilaksanakan UI bersama PT Paiton Energy dalam mengembangkan teknologi penghasil energi terbarukan yakni dengan cara mendaur ulang limbah, merupakan aksi nyata kolaborasi antara pihak swasta dengan universitas untuk menawarkan solusi dalam menghadapi krisis lingkungan hidup,” ujar Prof. Ari.
The launching ceremony of the PLTSa is held at the UI Campus Assembly Hall, Depok, West Java, on Wednesday (1/12/2021). The event is attended by UI Chancellor Ari Kuncoro and PT Paiton Energy President Director Koichiro Miyazaki.
According to Prof. Ari Kuncoro, UI is committed to carrying out its role in completing indicators of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a higher education institution, UI has a vital function to produce knowledge as well as applied technological innovations that are oriented towards social and ecological balance.
“The collaboration between UI and PT Paiton Energy in developing renewable energy-producing technologies is by recycling waste, is a real action of collaboration between the private sector and universities to offer solutions in dealing with environmental crises,” said Prof. Ari.
Dalam program Waste to Energy CSR Project ini, Paiton Energy mendonasikan delapan unit mesin Biodigester yang berfungsi sebagai PLTSa. Mesin tersebut beroperasi dengan memanfaatkan limbah sampah organik dan kotoran hewan maksimal dua ton per hari.
In this Waste to Energy CSR Project program, Paiton Energy donated eight units of Biodigester machines that function as PLTSa. The machine operates by utilizing organic waste and animal waste at maximum of two tons per day.
Selain menghasilkan listrik sebesar 234 kWh, mesin Biodigester juga memproduksi pupuk padat dan cair untuk pertanian yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat binaan UI.
In addition of producing 234 kWh electricity, the Biodigester machine also produces solid and liquid fertilizers for agriculture that can be utilized by UI fostered communities.
Koichiro Miyazaki mengatakan penanganan sampah untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan adalah tantangan besar di dunia dan juga Indonesia. “Salah satu upaya penting yang dapat dilakukan adalah membuat pembangkit listrik tenaga sampah, melalui program CSR kami, Waste to Energy CSR Project” kata dia.
Koichiro Miyazaki said waste management to preserve the environment is a big challenge in the world and also in Indonesia. “One important effort that can be done is providing a waste power plant through our CSR program, the Waste to Energy CSR Project,” he said.
Menurut Miyazaki, keberadaan PLTSa di UI memiliki manfaat yang besar karena akan memperdalam pengetahuan dalam mengoperasikan pembangkit waste to energy dan memberikan peluang untuk meningkatkan kelayakan komersial pembangkit melalui studi bersama. Pengetahuan dan peningkatan tersebut sangat penting untuk mendukung kebijakan pemerintah dalam mendorong penggunaan energi terbarukan.
According to Miyazaki, the presence of PLTSa at UI has great benefits because it will deepen the know-how in operating waste to energy plant and provide the chances of improving the commercial feasibility of the plant through the joint study. These knowledges and improvement are very important to support government policies to encourage the use of renewable energy.
Menurut Direktur Pengabdian & Pemberdayaan Masyarakat UI (DPPM UI) Agung Waluyo, program Waste to Energy CSR Project ini terfokus pada pemanfaatan sampah dan limbah organik. “Untuk pemanfaatan biodigester yang akan diisi dengan daun-daun, kotoran hewan, sisa kotoran belatung, sehingga dapat mengasilkan biogas yang akan langsung kami manfaatkan untuk menggerakkan mesin pembangkit listrik”, kata Agung.
According to Director of Community Service & Empowerment UI (DPPM UI), Agung Waluyo, the Waste to Energy CSR Project program focuses on the utilization of waste and organic waste. “For the use of the biodigester which will be filled with leaves, animal manure, the rest of the maggot droppings, so that it can produce biogas which we will directly use to drive the power plant,” said Agung.
Pejabat Dekan FMIPA UI (2018-2021) Rokhmatuloh mengatakan bahwa pihak UI menginginkan kampus ini menjadi kampus hijau dan mandiri energi listrik. “Kerja sama dengan Paiton Energy atas program Waste to Energy CSR Project ini dapat menjadi salah satu keberhasilan cita-cita kami ini,” kata Rokhmatuloh.
The Acting Dean of FMIPA UI (2018-2021) Rokhmatuloh said that UI wanted this campus to be a green campus and independent of its electrical energy. “This collaboration with Paiton Energy on the Waste to Energy CSR Project program can be one of the successes of our goal,” said Rokhmatuloh.
Paiton Energy telah melaksanakan program CSR sejak tahun 2000 yang dirancang setiap tahun, dan dipantau oleh Komite Pengembangan Masyarakat. Program dikategorikan dalam tiga fokus yaitu mendukung keberlanjutan perusahaan (pembangkit), keberlanjutan sosial ekonomi, serta keberlanjutan energi dan lingkungan.
Paiton Energy has implemented a CSR program since 2000 which is designed annually, and monitored by the Community Development Committee. The program is categorized into three focuses, namely supporting the sustainability of the company (generating power), socio-economic sustainability, and energy and environmental sustainability.
